It’s Friday, so let’s talk about our favorite things, shall we? This is the first installment and to kick things off, I’m sharing five of my favorite OT Influencers on Instagram. These folks each bring great value to the OT profession and have personally taught/helped me grow in my own career as a clinician.

Mandy @otflourish: I’ve been following Mandy since my first year as a practicing clinician. She has tons of practice in the skilled nursing setting, with so many great treatment resources. She also puts a big focus of her content on supporting new grads as they transition into the OT profession.

Mary @yourdementiatherapist: I recently started following Mary when I created this account earlier this year. She has such a genuine passion for dementia care. Much of her content is geared towards families and community caregivers, all from the skilled OT perspective.

Cheryl Hall @ottoolkit: I first started using Cheryl’s Toolkit book when I was a student on Level II fieldwork, and I have continued to use it throughout my career. She creates illustrated handouts for all aspects of rehabilitation, including ADL, exercises, and ROM precautions.

Luke @otinpatient: Luke is a new follow for me too. He puts a real-world perspective on much of what we’re taught in OT school, challenging our way of thinking to improve the overall quality of care that we provide.

Diamond @adimeofot: Diamond is a pediatric OT, but I really appreciate her content about sensory integration. Sensory needs might change as we age, but they don’t go away, and her content is still relevant to the skilled nursing setting.
