Well, it’s the first Friday of the month. We’re a full month into 2023 and I honestly can’t even believe it. I was scrolling Instagram the other night before bed and noticed that people are starting to do “throwbacks” to the 2010s and I’ve honestly never felt older. Referencing the fashion, music, and internet trends of the decade as if they were “so long ago”. *insert eye roll here*
I’m sure this is probably how most of our Residents feel when we talk about the any decade pre-1980. And I’m sure I’ll only continue to feel insanely old the more time passes and internet trends only increase.
ICYMI the start of February marked the start of National Senior Independence Month. I’m not sure who gets to be in charge of coming up with these bonus holidays and recognition weeks/months. But if it creates a bonus reason to intentionally talk about independence for our Residents, I’m here for it.
We’ve had some great conversation over on Instagram this week about “create dependence” within the SNF (skilled nursing facility) setting. Truth be told, it’s something I’ve been thinking a lot about and it’s helpful to hear from you as well about your experiences and perspectives.
If you missed out on the conversation (or any other content from this week), I’ve got it all compiled here.
