Tomorrow is the first day of April which also means the first day of OT Month!
This is a great opportunity to be advocating for the OT profession in our personal lives, professional lives, and social lives. There are some great advocacy programs starting up tomorrow on social media.
Shannen Coley has hosted the #ABCsofOT for years now. It basically breaks down the month by the alphabet and each day you share a different aspect of OT that corresponds to that day’s letter. I’ve done this in years past and in ways it’s harder than it looks (especially for letters like ‘X’!)
There’s a new social media challenge this year hosted by FullScopeOT. They’ve also got pre-set prompts for each day of the month designed to promote OT advocacy.
Both challenges are open to anyone at any point on their OT journey and they’re totally non-pressure. You can participate as much or as little as you like. It’s all about OTs supporting OTs.
If you missed out on anything from this week, I’ve got it all compiled here.

Have you seen the Petition?
Michelle and Luke, as well as many other OT content creators, have been sharing a petition to change the Academic and Clinical Standards for occupational therapists.
And if you’ve already signed the petition, take the next step by filling out this survey that breaks down how much each of the points within the petition resonates with you: find it here.
