Getting back into the groove of my routine after a few days off always feels so chaotic. You might have seen on Stories that I ended up working around an 8 hour day on Monday because the DOR/COTA that works full time at the facility I cover ever Monday took the day off. Which was totally deserved, but totally threw me for a loop as far as getting back in a groove goes.
I was able to take some time on Wednesday to get caught up on things, and now that it’s Friday I’m feeling much more in line with where I like things to be.
I’ve got a discharge coming up today for a short-term patient that I’ve built a really great rapport with. I’m anticipating it will be a little emotional, but you know what? I think that’s the sign of a great course of care. Feeling sad to say goodbye (because the rapport was so sweet) but happy to see someone transition back into their regular routine too (just like I’ve been trying to do for myself all week).
I’m certainly thankful to have a relaxed no-plans-no-agenda weekend ahead of me!
If you missed out on anything from this week, or are looking for some fun ways to connect to the OT community, I’ve got it all compiled here.
