This week, we hosted a little going-away celebration for the Rehab Department Director at one of the facilities I frequent. Nothing too fancy, just some cards with sweet messages and a dozen or so doughnuts to make the start of the work day a little more special. Changes and shifts in routines can be tricky for all of us, but I’m always on board for a transition when it means someone will get a routine that works better for themselves and their family.

I also started at a new-to-me building this week. I shared a little about it on Instagram Stories, but just to recap here, the initial experience has been great. It’s a much larger building compared to the other facilities I work at, but it’s a nice blend of skilled short term patients, long-term care Residents, and assisted living level care. And though the building is much larger than I’m used to, I learned my way around the main treatment and Residency areas pretty quickly.

We’ve got some decent weather ahead this weekend, and some celebratory plans for Father’s Day.

What are your plans for this weekend?

If you missed out on anything from this week, or are looking for some fun ways to connect to the OT community, I’ve got it all compiled here.
