How to Make a Button Hook with some Basic Office Supplies

Button Hooks are such an underrated piece of adaptive equipment. They are simple but can really make a huge difference when promoting independence with dressing. But have you ever been in a situation where you need one and can’t find one? Let me show you how to make your own!

Simply grab a marker, a standard paper clip, and some tape.

Unfold the paper clip so that it forms an ‘S’ shape. Then secure it to the base end of the marker with the tape, making sure half of the paper clip extends beyond the end of the marker. It should look something like this.

Then, put it to work! This is a super fast and easy hack when you need a quick fix or are working in a setting where resources are limited. Check out the video demonstration below and be sure to follow for more OT-related DIYs!
